Comical Moments from The Big State

Thought I would add a few comical moments and sayings for a good laugh:

Felicia - Our trash dumpster is on the way out of the apartment complex, so Felicia decided to take the trash out the other day. She hooked the bag on her side view mirror and proceeded. About 10 miles (okay maybe only 1 mile) down FM 620 - the road we live on - she notices something out of the corner of her left eye and hears some strange wooshing noise. Lo and behold she had forgotten one minor step and was driving 55 mph with a full trash bag attached to her sideview mirror still. I would have loved to see the faces on those driving by! Rest easy NC friends, our plates have been changed to Texas ones - thank goodness!

Lydia to Corban - "Corban, I'm going to check with my doctor and see if Alavert is right for you. Alavert is a great medicine for your asthma and only has a few side effects." Okay - maybe they have been watching too much television!!

Corban - "Dad, you are the greatest."

Philip - "Yes, son - I am."

What a great week it has been! Monday started with a major deposit in the Biles bank account with the closing of our home in Durham - Praise the Lord!! The money never had a chance of making any interest as we jumped in with both feet in Austin life.

Corban is taking Flipnastics on Tuesdays and has also started swim lessons on Thursdays. Lydia has swim lessons on Thursdays as well right before Corban's class. They are both in great classes with only three kids in each class.

Lydia is learning how to swim efficiently and Corban is learning how to get more than his little toe wet.

Felicia has begun serving families in our ministry in various ways - making meals for families of sick children, delivering flowers to our Children's Ministry staff, searching the entire real estate network for a house, and learning where the Peanut Butter is at HEB, our local grocery store.

I had a fun week planning for Vacation Bible School, Camp, and looking at building plans for our new Children's Ministry Building. I'm also really beginning to wonder why I let the movers put our boxes with my bike helmet and bike computer in the very back of our garage. I have been riding with Felicia's helmet and having no idea how far I've been going. Probably about 75 miles each ride and 20 miles running??!! I guess I could write forever, but then these would be too long to read, so thanks for your responses and I will try to give at least the highlights each week. Then...pictures???!!

Saturdays in Texas

It has been so nice having fun family Saturdays! This morning Lydia started her swim lessons so Felicia took her and they came back delighted and excited that Lydia's swim skills did not suffer greatly from her lessons in Durham. Corban and I took the training wheels off the bike and began the two-wheel experience. He did well the first time out and he hoped "Dad would not let go until he turned 6!" Well, I did let go a few times and he did well! We then went to the putting green here at the apt complex and saw a couple long ones sink in and Corban really enjoyed hitting mine of line - just trying to get the mental game down as well! After lunch we all went to the pool where Felicia and I caught up on some reading and Corban and Lydia spent the whole hour trying to figure out how to get a plastic toy from the bottom of the 3 Feet. Corban had thrown it a little farthere from the wall than Lydia hoped and the water is still a little cool. The sun is hot in Texas so we are back inside now getting ready for supper. Great Easter services last night at church and Felicia, Lydia, and I served together in the Babies class at the 7:00 service. We have three services tomorrow, 7, 9, 11. We will worship together at the 9 and serve at the 11. I was at both services last night meeting and greeting and will do the same tomorrow. Happy Resurrection Day everyone and we hope all is well!
